Test Preparation

IELTS, TOEFL or PTE? We get you to the band your universities and visa actually require — section by section, not just overall.

Test Preparation

English-test scores open or close doors before a human ever reads your application. The trap most students fall into is chasing an overall band while ignoring the section minimums that universities and visas quietly enforce.

Which test should you take?

TestBest forNotes
IELTSUK (UKVI), Canada SDS, AustraliaThe safest all-round choice; required for the UK visa.
TOEFL iBTGermany, Netherlands, USAOften accepted in place of IELTS; not valid for the UK visa.
PTE AcademicAustralia, UK, Canada, EuropeAI-scored, and many students find it easier on speaking.

Know your target — section minimums matter

A 7.0 overall with 5.5 in Writing is still a rejection at most universities, and a 5.5 in any band disqualifies you from Canada's fast-track SDS. Always check each section, not just the average.

Use our IELTS calculator to set your four bands and instantly see which universities and visa routes you clear — and exactly where you fall short.

An 8-week plan that works

  1. Weeks 1–2 — a full diagnostic test; identify and focus on your weakest section.
  2. Weeks 3–4 — grammar and vocabulary building, with daily English reading.
  3. Weeks 5–6 — intensive timed practice under exam conditions.
  4. Week 7 — speaking focus: record yourself and review for filler words and pronunciation.
  5. Week 8 — full mock tests, review of weak areas, and mental preparation.
